Having been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, one of the main uses of my design
skills has been to create flyers for different venues and events. At first, I primarily used Illustrator
to do so as it was the optimal way to set type. I’ve slowly drifted to using Photoshop as they've
updated it to make setting type easier, as well as creating and sorting through art boards. As a
traditional artist, I also find that it's much easier to use color, gradients, and effects in Photoshop.
The downside of course being scalability, but that’s why it’s also good to be well
versed in vector graphics when the project calls for it.
